I'm happy to officially announce that this year's musical will be Bye Bye Birdie! In the past, our production has always taken place the week after February parent/teacher conferences. This year, to accommodate our illustrious accompanist, Mrs. Andersen, and the rest of our band students participating in Ottumwa Solo Day, we're pushing our performance dates back a week. So... mark your calendars.

An extra week of rehersal? I can't see that as a bad thing (knock on wood) we sure could have used it but somehow no matter what you do it'll work out. That's the magical mystery of theatre ;) I'll never forget that talk. GO OUT FOR THE PLAY! Especially if you have even the slightest interest in theatre or speech in highschool. They ask for any past experience that you have and you'll want to fill in the space with lots of things you've done. Experience looks good (The highschool has a lot of competition eeeep! ) But just go out and do eveything you can. I wish I had more to write on my audition form of past theatre experience. I'm currently in the auditioning process of Speech Team and I couldn't be more thankful for what I learned at FMS on that stage. Get out there you may just find that you like the spotlight.
