How About Some Poe for Halloween?

Nothing like a little Edgar Allan Poe to set the mood for Halloween. GOAL students watched this movie of "The Tell Tale Heart" today. It's the same movie that I remember watching in 8th grade, and I think it still holds up pretty well. We also read "The Raven" and parts of "Cask of Amontillado." CREEPY STUFF!!!

  1. We had a mini unit on Poe in English 9 not long ago. We also read The Cask of Amontillado, Anabel Lee, and The Bells (I don't think we read the Raven) and watched a biography video on him. He had some creepy writings and a very sad life.

  2. I like this a lot. As well as the Raven. I was telling my brothers about it after we had watched this in GOAL, and Ronan (age 8) got creeped out just by me telling him! But Finnegan (age 10) couldn't get enough. Then my mom asked me what The Tell-Tale Heart was based on and I said Poe, she forbid by brothers from watching it. Finn was furious! I laughed. Hard.
